No License Found Error

Issue:

When starting an Autodesk product, the following error message is displayed:
Network License Not Available
Common causes: all licenses are in use, the server is down, or the license has expired. Contact your system administrator or support.
Error [0.0.0]

No License Found Error Meaning

Causes:

This error may occur when making a database connection to an enterprise geodatabase where the license has expired. If the user account making the database connection is not an administrative account with necessary permissions, the above error message is received suggesting that the geodatabase administrator be contacted. Jan 20, 2018  This feature is not available right now. Please try again later. I checked to log file, there was a notice that 'No License found for 'Tableau Desktop' as attached. I'm already tried to install it so many times with different version, but still failed. Could you give me solution to this matter, please. Thank you so much.

There are several potential causes for this issue:
  • Invalid network license file.
  • Outdated NLM version.
  • NLM port already in use.
  • Essential ports blocked by the Windows firewall.
  • Client workstation not listed in options file INCLUDE command.
  • Corrupt CascadeInfo.cas file.
  • Incorrect licpath.lic file.
  • License retrieval timeout.
  • License file expired.
  • License for a newer version is not yet included in the license file.

Solution:

Do one or more of the following:

Invalid license file:

Verify that the license file is valid. Errors may occur if the license file is corrupted or if licenses have been combined incorrectly.

  • Use the License File Parser to verify the license contains the appropriate products and Feature Codes - Network Admin, and that it does not display an error. If they are not present, generate a new license file from the Autodesk Account.
  • If more license files are merged into a unique license file, see also Combining License Files for Multiple Autodesk Products - Network Admin.

Outdated version of Autodesk Network License Manager (NLM):

Verify that the latest version of Network License Manager (NLM) is running:

  1. Downloading the Network License Manager - Network Admin.
  2. Open LMTOOLS. (Do not rely upon Help > About.).
  3. Go to the 'Server Status'tab and select 'Perform Status Enquiry'.
  4. If NLM services are down, start them from the 'Start/Stop/Reread' tab.
  5. Confirm that the NLM version shown matches the version found in step 1. The NLM version is highlighted in the following example:

If not running the latest version, stop services, uninstall NLM, download the correct version, and install it: Installing the Network License Manager on Windows.
If the last version of LMTOOLS is installed but the issue persists, use the following guide: Error: 'Network License Not Available - Error [0.0.0]' despite LMTOOLS is updated to latest version

Corrupt CascadeInfo.cas file:

Delete the CascadeInfo.cas file. A new file will be created automatically when the product opens. The CascadeInfo.cas file is located in the following locations:

For Windows XP:
C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataAutodeskAdLMCascadeInfo.cas

For Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10:
C:ProgramDataAutodeskAdlmCascadeInfo.cas

Essential ports are blocked by the Windows firewall or incorrect port is being used:

  1. Enable ports 2080 and 27000-27009, which are used for network licensing.
    1. Open Control Panel, select 'System and Security', 'Windows Firewall.'
    2. Click 'Advanced Settings.'
    3. Click 'Inbound Rules'and select 'New Rule.'
    4. Select 'Port' and click 'Next.'
    5. Select 'TCP.'
    6. For Specific Local Ports, enter 2080 and click 'Next.'
    7. Choose 'Allow the connection'and click 'Next.'
    8. Leave all options selected and click 'Next.'
    9. Give the rule a name and description, such as Autodesk 2080.
    10. Click 'Finish.'
  1. Repeat the same steps, but use a range of ports for the next value. For example, for 27000-27009; name the rule Autodesk 27000-27009.
  1. Confirm that the server and workstation are using the same ports:

Server: Open the license file and review the first 3 lines. If no port is listed at the end of SERVER 27000 is the default port.

License Not Found Error #17 Sap2000 15

If the port was to be changed it would appear similar to the following example:

  1. Check environment variable adskflex_license_file and licpath.lic to see what port is being used. If a port is not listed the default port used is 27000.

The client workstation is not listed in an options file with INCLUDE command:

If an Options File is used to restrict license usage, a client workstation should be listed in the options file INCLUDE command. If that is the case, refer to Error [0.0.0]' when using an OPTIONS file.

Incorrect licpath.lic file or in ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable:

For verifying content in LICPATH.lic file, client license file, use the following processes:
  1. Check that the file licpath.lic is in the corresponding LGS folder.
Note: For Autodesk 2016 and earlier version products, the LICPATH.lic file may be in the program install folder.
For 2017 and 2018 versions of Autodesk products, the path to LICPATH.lic file is in this format:
    C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS<PRODUCT_KEY>_<Version>.0.0.F
For example, the path for AutoCAD 2018 would be: C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS001J1_2018.0.0.F
The path for AutoCAD 2017 would be: C:ProgramDataAutodeskCLMLGS001I1_2017.0.0.F

  2. Check that the content is in the following format:

Here is an example of a properly formatted LICPATH.lic file:

Note: LICENSE-SERVER-NAME1 is a place holder for the actual license server name or its IP address.

If ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable is used, verify its value: How to specify license servers using the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable

Autodesk NLM port already in use:

Ports used by Autodesk Network License Manager
Verify that another program is not using the same port as Autodesk NLM. If it is, identify an open TCP port between 27000 to 27009 and add it to the network license file:

  1. Open network license file on the server.
  2. On the top row, after the MAC address, enter a space and then the new open port.
  3. Save the file.
  4. Stop the services.
  5. Start the services.

Error No License Found For 'tableau Server'

For example, if choosing 27004 as the new open port for NLM, the licpath.lic file might contain these lines:

Error No License Found Office For Mac

Note: The number 00112233445566 in the first line represents the server MAC address.

License retrieval timeout:

The current license retrieval timeout value, expressed in milliseconds, may be too short. This can happen if accessing a network license through a VPN. This can be increased, giving more time to retrieve the license.

  1. On the workstation system, navigate to Control Panel, and select 'System and Security.'
  2. Select 'System,' then 'Advanced system settings.'
  3. Select the 'Advanced' tab of the System Properties dialog.
  4. Select 'Environmental Variables.'
  5. Under System Variables, click 'New.'
  6. For Variable name, enter FLEXLM_TIMEOUT.
  7. For Variable value, enter 5000000.
  8. Click 'OK.'

Microsoft Office License Not Found

Run product again. If the error still occurs, increase the timeout value more. Continue to increase it incrementally until the product runs successfully or the timeout limit of 10000000 is reached.
